Présentée au salon de Chicago en 1989, la Honda NSX était la concurrente dirent des Porsche 911 et autres Ferrari 348, et faisait figure d’avant-garde avec son design réalisé par le japonais ken okuyama, également responsable du style de la Ferrari Enzo.
La Honda NSX est équipée d’un moteur v6 de 3,0l en position centrale arrière développant 274 cv avec son système d’admission et de distribution Vtec.
Ce moteur aux cotes très carré atteint un régime de 8000t/mn, et lui confère des sensations d’un moteur de moto typiquement Honda.
La Honda NSX affirmait la volonté de la marque de se présenter comme un motoriste de haute technologie, c’est la grande époque f1 avec lotus, williams ou McLaren.
